Moments
A moment is a TURNING FORCE.
For example, a DOOR. A door can only turn. The hinges are the point about which it turns, called the PIVOT or FULCRUM.
Moment = FORCE x perpendicular DISTANCE to the pivot
(Nm) (N) (m)
(anti-clockwise moments = clockwise moments)
Force x distance (anti-clockwise) = Force x distance (clockwise)
F1 x D1 F2 x D2

The answer is YES. By using this formula, you can calculate the missing distance. A small force can balance out a big force by being further away from the pivot.
